Coupon Craze Frugal Forecast for November
Can you believe that it is November? With the new month, comes a new Frugal Forecast from the Coupon Craze staff. Of course, you already know about the leftover Halloween candy deals at grocery stores and big box retailers, but we’ll go a step further with insights into specific sales trends to help you scoop up the best deals at just the right time. Plus, you'll get a heads up on our staff's picks for the 5 best new coupons this month—and the 5 best expiring ones you may want to grab before the month is over. So here’s our Forecast for the best ways to stay frugal in November.
Three’s a Charm
Statistically, November is one of the biggest deals months of the year, due largely in part to Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events. Although we can’t reveal any specific bargains just yet (keep an eye out in the weeks to come), here’s some insider information that will make your holiday shopping much easier.
If your favorite store currently offers 10% off during a savings event, you can expect to find at least double that (20% off), or more during the Black Friday shopping rush. Select merchants will sweeten the pot with 50% off deals, in addition to “Buy One, Get One Free” promotions. This year, Black Friday offers will extend over the whole holiday weekend, so you’ve got more opportunity to save. Don’t expect free shipping offers online, however, until December, when merchants are trying to entice last-minute shoppers to spend.
Cooking Up Some Deals
November means Thanksgiving, which means family, football and good food. All month long, you’ll be experimenting with new dishes that may end up on your holiday table, but have you thought about upgrading your cook and bake ware? We both know that you’re using the same set you received as a wedding gift over a decade ago, so now’s the time. Give some new bake ware a whirl, which you’ll get $5 off of when you spend $50 at Sears.com. Target.com wants to make chopping, mixing and blending easier by offering select kitchen appliances for up to 20% off, through November 12th. For all the rest of your Thanksgiving cooking essentials, Pfaltzgraff.com is having an early bird special, with wares up to 77% off, until November 15th.
I Do
The majority of wedding proposals come on either Christmas or Valentine’s Day, so the bridal industry experiences a down turn during November and much of December. To generate revenue, wedding apparel retailers and bridal gown merchants hold gown sales or offer slashed prices on current merchandise from November 15 through December 24. The famous Kleinfeld Bridal salon in New York City is hosting a blowout sale on November 29th, with gowns up to 70% off. Until November 9th, DinoDirect.com is running a 25% off sale on wedding apparel, including wedding dresses. DavidsBridal.com, which sells gowns at affordable prices every day, is offering $50 off new and select bridal gowns. Not to forget the groom, if the groomsmen purchase five items for the big day (tuxedo, dress shirt, or tie), the groom can get 40% off his wedding apparel, through January 1st.
Get into the holiday spirit a little early, and treat yourself to these deals.
